Zaida Alvarez focuses on developing clinical therapies for central nervous system injuries including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. In conjunction with the Stupp Lab, Alvarez is currently seeking to design biomaterials that control the presentation of bioactive queues to signal a patient’s own cells at the site of injury to repair the damaged spinal cord.
