SQI: Simpson Querry Institute

Core Facilities

The Simpson Querrey Institute for BioNanotechnology (SQI) is home to two core facilities, the Analytical bioNanoTechnology Equipment Core (ANTEC) and the Peptide Synthesis Core. These facilities are fee-for-service/instrument use laboratories that encompass a wide range of biologically related analytical instrumentation as well as a comprehensive offering of synthetic peptide services.

Highlights

SQI core facilities earn 2020 Service Excellence Awards

  • The Peptide Synthesis Core and the Analytical bioNanoTechnology Equipment Core (ANTEC) were among 25 core facilities selected university-wide for general excellence in governance, resource management, research and technical staff, customer satisfaction and outreach activities, among other areas.
  • Awardees typically score as either “Outstanding” or “Excellent” in at least five of the eight categories that the Office for Research’s Core Facilities Administration uses to evaluate cores.

Rising Stars of SQI Lectures

The Rising Stars Lectures are sponsored by the Peptide Synthesis Core and ANTEC.

About Rising Stars

These popular lectures highlight the research of senior graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the SQI laboratories. The lectures give these researchers a forum to hone their presentation skills and disseminate information about their interesting research projects at SQI.

Speaker Nominations

Rising Stars Lecture speakers are nominated by SQI Faculty Members. If you would like to nominate someone for an upcoming lecture, contact Mark Karver.
