Freezer/Mill Now Available at ANTEC

The compact, benchtop Freezer/Mill from SPEX Sample Prep is now available for use at ANTEC. This instrument is designed for grinding and homogenizing 0.1-5 grams of temperature-sensitive, tough samples in minutes. The Freezer/Mill can perform these tasks on cartilage, bone/demineralized bone matrix, synthetic polymers (PLGA, nitrocellulose), natural polymers (collagen), and temperature-sensitive protein samples.

New Addition to ANTEC's Equipment Pool

The IncuCyte Live Cell Analysis System is now available to ANTEC users. This instrument is used for real-time characterization and quantification of the interactions between highly sensitive primary cell cultures and newly developed bioactive materials designed to be introduced into living organisms. The IncuCyte is a useful biomedical research tool in drug discovery and therapeutics. It also addresses technical limitations in testing and evaluating new bioactive materials such as hydrogels, polymer solutions and other samples, which require special handling and conditioning to maintain cell viability.

ANTEC is grateful for the generous support received from the Office for Research, the Simpson Querrey Institute for BioNanotechnology, and several Principal Investigators who supported our Spring 2018 equipment proposal to purchase the IncuCyte.  We also thank ANTEC users for their time and enthusiastic help in evaluating this instrument, which contributed to the success of our application.
